While the main attraction may be the sand, sun, coral and sea, most visitors find their lasting memories are of the people, their way of living and way of welcoming. Samoa is for visitors who enjoy the slower pace of life and quiet way of relaxing. The capital city is Apia (Upolu Island), full of history and culture. On UPOLU, visit the Cave Pool at Piula, the Falefa Falls, the Papaseea Sliding Rock, Tiavi Falls, the sacred burial grounds at Mulinu'u, or swim and snorkel at the Palolo Deep Marine Reserve near Apia. On SAVAI'I, enjoy beaches, reefs, rainforests, & waterfalls. There is also the mysterious star-shaped Savai'i Pyramid, and the footprint of the Legendary Moso. The Virgin's Grave that emerged untouched after a volcanic eruption left the rest of the graveyard under lava. Also see the Taga Blowholes, where the sea rushes into volcanically produced lava tubes. |
